Happy Sunday Guys!
Okay, so I know for some of us…okay, many of us, it doesn’t feel like a happy Sunday.
Nothing about this season seems good. Everything looks bleak. And bleak often paves the way for worry, anxiety, stress and a whole load of other things that cause us to… STOP.
We stop moving and eventually… quit.
Which is why, more than ever sis, you need a strategy. If you have felt any of these things, I’ve Got YOU! I promise, If you put any or all of these 5 tips into practice, you’ll naturally move against the current tide of panic and fear that is sadly, sweeping the nation!
1. OWN IT!
Yes, contrary to everything I usually say, I want you to speak out on what’s causing you to be anxious and afraid. Voice those fears but don’t stay there. Admitting you feel afraid is a sign of vulnerability and you know what?People connect with vulnerability. By acknowledging the cause of anxiety, you rid it of the power to overpower you. So own it!
2. SHARE IT
Okay, so I’m sure you knew this was coming along didn’t you?
Why wouldn’t you share it? The people that struggle the most tend to be the ones who hide behind the bars of perfectionism. But all that does is leave you suffering in silence. ALONE.
Don’t get me wrong, I love being alone. It allows me to process my thoughts. But I’m not supposed to stay alone! How else would we process, pain, hurt and even trauma if we were alone? We need people we can rely on especially during difficult and trying times like a crisis!
A problem shared is a problem halved!
3. SOLVE IT!
Listen, you still have a job to do, even in crisis. There are bills to be paid, bums to clean and kids to teach! So the problem you solved prior to said outbreak/crisis/pandemic, is still required.
If there was ever a time that you were needed, it’s now! Don’t forget, Light shines brightest in the dark. It sounds so juxtaposed but let me remind you: You were supposed to shine even now!
So don’t stop working in that field of expertise. Don’t shut up shop because things seems uncertain. Keep studying. Keep growing and keep solving the problems you so giftedly have the answers for!
4. GIVE IT!
You know a great way to combat fear in crisis? By thinking of someone else. Who might need your encouragement right now?
Call them.
I genuinely believe God put something special in women. He created us to be forward thinkers, innovators and change makers. But the darkness often has us thinking otherwise.
The dark in the world clouds our vision and even deceives us into believing we are helpless. But we’re not.
In crisis we can still be bold, strong and courageous especillay for the less able among us.
Is there an elderly couple you could be of help to in this season?
Reach out.
You are not too small. You can make a difference so look for a way to give of your time and watch your focus shift! Rise up, stand in the gap for the weak and keep going!
5. READ IT!
Listen, I don’t know any other way to get through a crisis other than to stick my head in The Word of God, my Bible!
It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I can only talk from experience and since it’s my blog, that’s what I’m going to do!
The Bible serves as an anchor especially in the trying times like we are all currently experiencing.
It offers hope when the world is failing, markets are crashing and schools are closing (not mine btw!).
If you want to keep afloat and not get swept by the current of fear and uncertainty, I highly recommend spending even just a few minutes a day reading it. And if you’re not sure where to start, then sign up to my devotional!
It will get you started and keep you going!
We cant always control what happens but we can take steps to control our out put in the current climate. So I hope these tips help you to stay focused, alert and ahead of the curve!
